Specialist cleaning

St Michael & All Angels, Finmere, Buckingham: 2020

Window condition report, cleaning to Stained Glass and leaded glazing on all church elevations.

St Leonards Church, Grendon Underwood, Buckinghamshire: 2019

Cleaning carried out on the Stained Glass and leaded glazing to all church elevations, including stop in repairs and in situ ironwork refurbishment.

The cleaning followed an extensive restoration project carried out by Owlsworth IJP, to replace the roof that had been stolen, structural roof timbers and damaged masonry.

St Laurence's church, Warborough, Wallingford: 2019

Cleaning carried out on the Stained Glass and leaded glazing to all church elevations, including stop in repairs, in situ ironwork refurbishment and opening windows re-commissioned for ventilation.

The Church of the Holy Rood, Shilton, Burford: 2019

Cleaning carried out on the Stained Glass and leaded glazing to all church elevations, including stop in repairs, in situ ironwork refurbishment and new external protective glazing for the Millennium window.
Opening windows were refurbished and re-commissioned to improve ventilation.

These are some of the windows that required the most attention and had the best results, including the finish to the Millennium window.

St Georges Church, Kencot, Lechlade: 2018

Cleaning carried out on the Stained glass and leaded glazing to all church elevations, to remove thick layers of bacterial growth and dirt ingress.

During the initial survey, failed pointing and damaged stonework was discovered to some of the windows. These were patch repaired with traditional lime mortar to prevent water ingress and further deterioration.

These are some of the windows that required the most attention and had the best results.

St Andrews, Headington, Oxford: 2017

Cleaning carried out on the East window in the chancel, to remove dirt ingress, thick cobwebs and remove limescale crusts that had formed around the lead on the exernal surface.

The internal work was done very carefully with cotton buds and soft brushes, using a 60/40 de-ionised water and methylated spirit mix.

The limescale crusts were obscuring some of the detail in the window and were removed using a surgical blade before the external surface was cleaned with de-ionised water.

External window protection had to be carefully removed for access before cleaning began and was re-installed on completion.
